Prickly Pear Mustard is the typical product of Militello in Val di Catania and has its maximum celebration in the dedicated October Festival Sagra della 'Mostarda di Fichi d'India'.
Instead of with wine must, it is a sweet mustard and it is prepared with these typical Sicilian fruits, to which to add semolina and spices such as cinnamon and cloves.
Place the still hot mixture in ceramic molds or terrines and taste, even hot, with a sprinkling of cinnamon and toasted almond grains. When it gets cold and is properly preserved, can be enjoyed even in the following months.
