The village of Piansano has been for centuries in the orbit of Tuscany and in the seventeenth century it became part of the Papal States.

Since then it has been inhabited by many landowners until after the First World War, it was expropriated by the Opera National Comabattenti (ONC) that divided it and gave it to the veterans of the Great War.
