Aug 31: Maccaruni (Macaroni) Festival of Gavignano

Aug 31: Maccaruni (Macaroni) Festival of Gavignano

The whole town is mobilized for the end of August to prepare the famous local pasta by hand: the maccaruni. The maccaruni are fettuccine with egg cut very thin that resemble the 'fini fini' but can not be called that. Here we are in the province of Rome!

The realization of the pasta is done in the facilities of the Pro Loco that looks like an operating room for how clean, tidy and modern it is. The locals have taken a lot of care for the style and quality.

The eating tables are in the central square and those serving us wear the traditional local dress.

First, however, an aperitif at the Botte Piccola, the small wine bar overlooking the central square. You cannot miss out on sharing a Campanino dell'Avventura!
