 Buonarroti Alberghiero Fiuggi Award

Fiuggi capital of the Italian Culinary Education with the Buonarroti Prize

Food and wine are made by many good people who cultivate the land and produce excellence with commitment and give them to many other good people who love them and create extraordinary dishes for our well-being.

Then finally everything arrives in a beautiful table set up with love and the miracle happens.

It is this Italian miracle that makes us feel good, gives us unforgettable moments, enchants the whole world and attracts millions of tourists.

And all these people were once children and went to school to be educated in professionalism and respect for sustainability.

One of the best schools in Italy for the hotel industry is the IPSSEOA Michelangelo Buonarroti in Fiuggi which has an incredible history.

The school is in an impressive historic building in the center of Fiuggi with a reception hall worthy of a 4-star hotel. Many of the best Italian chefs have passed through this school which, with its boarding school, hosts children from all over Italy.

The section of the school that deals with cooking has always had a fixed point on the promotion of territorial excellence, but creativity also comes from the contamination between different cultures. So this year the head teacher Francesco Cozzolino, the professor Mariangela Maina and the whole school organized the Buonarroti Prize where classes of children from various Italian institutes competed.

To contaminate it is necessary to know the world and the theme of this edition of the award was the 'Valorisation of the Territory'.

The room was packed with kids! The emotion during their presentation of the dishes and the happiness at the end of the test could be felt in the air and created a sparkling atmosphere.

The awards ceremony was a real party where the decibels of applause and shouts of joy reached the square of the nearby town.

We were present as press but also as local producers. In fact, the councilor for agriculture of the municipality of Paliano, Eleonora Campoli, wanted to present a selection of excellence from our town.

We recently opened the Donna Vittori farm and presented an excellent Rosciola cultivar Olive Oil and our plum and Cesanese grape jams. We have just planted the cuttings of Cesanese!

Many products from Paliano exhibited and tasted, and the some producers told about their attachment to the territory, their commitment to sustainability and the history of their farms. Among these, the most expansive was certainly Flavio Perini of the Bertacco company and Filippo Schina with his daughter Sara who are today the largest wine producers in the Cesanese del Piglio DOCG area.

An unforgettable day for the IPSSEOA Buonarroti school in Fiuggi, which has always been one of the main attractions of our territory.
