A universe of emotions, writers, actors and operators moves around the theater and, in addition to the great productions, the provincial theaters demonstrate an exceptional vitality: we are referring to amateur theater and its protagonists.
This year, the city of Colleferro was chosen as the venue for the 2022 Italian Amateur Theater Grand Prix organized by FITA - Italian Amateur Theater Federation (www.fitateatro.eu) and we are part of the winner's selection jury together with Mario Girardi, Giulio Iannone and Emanuele Girolami.
The choice of Colleferro is not accidental, this year it is the European Capital of Space and is one of the most culturally lively provincial towns. The shows will be held at the Vittorio Veneto Theater and in the Castle Park.
Emanuele Girolami, president of the city council, opened the evening of 7 May together with Fiammetta Fiammeri with the presentation of the review and greetings from the entire administration.
The first show entitled 'Trout' was staged, a beautiful text by Edoardo Erba who today is perhaps one of the greatest Italian writers. The company is Trepercaso di Cave and it comes from our region, Lazio, where 'three' was also the number of actors on stage: the talented Carlo Albanesi, Roberto Censi and Gioia de Angelis.
The story is that of a gentleman to whom his wife brings a terrible medical report that still allows him little time to live, only to discover that it is a mistake in person.
At this point, the search for the real sick person starts to communicate the report to him. The meeting between the two men is the opportunity for an intimate journey towards the meaning of life.
The show has the style of a comedy but also the introspective depth that is often reached more with a laugh than with a tear.
The last part is surprising because it becomes almost surreal, the life that takes and takes away from everyone and if we are not able to face reality then we risk falling into madness.
The actors dominated the scene with their professionalism and the simple set designs conveyed a sense of the story.
The satisfaction of the evening was expressed with warm applause that filled the entire theater.
