Our Donna Vittori pasta was selected to be tasted during the "Best Student" and "Best Professional" competition which took place on January 23rd at the prestigious Michelangelo Buonarroti Hotellerie Institute in Fiuggi.
The competition was created by the FIC, Federation of Italian Chefs, always at the forefront in the protection and promotion of the figure of chefs. A profession that can reach very high levels but only after a journey of dedication and commitment.
In Lazio, FIC is represented by chef Alessandro Circiello, who is also a well-known TV host and a tireless promoter of Italian cuisine and support for all young people who want to approach the profession of chef. Alessandro was present at the competition and was able to motivate all the young participants, as well as being very attentive to all the local peculiarities such as our Donna Vittori pasta made from traditional grains.
With this competition Donna Vittori's collaborations with the FIC begin, in this case the Ciociaria section (province of Frosinone) and its president Antonio Cristini.

The students of the institute tried their hand at cooking casarecce made with Cappelli durum wheat and Autonomia B soft wheat, and they all gave their own original interpretation of these ancient grains.
Returning to the competition, the winner of the student section was Luigi Paparo representing the Formia Hotel Institute and will go on to represent the region at the Italian Cuisine Championships in the Student category.
The winner of the professional section was Elia Perelli, while second place went to Naomi Spaziani from Frosinone who however arrived first at the Lady Chef circuit and will therefore represent the Lazio region (and therefore also our Ciociaria) in the final of the championships Italians from Rimini for this category.
Many personalities were present at this competition, such as Monica Picca, advisor to the Minister of Education Valditara, who was the guest of honor demonstrating the importance of Italian cuisine for the ministry. We would like to remind you that Italian cuisine is a candidate to enter the UNESCO list of intangible heritage and that we were present with our pasta at the presentation of the candidacy at Sant'Angelo Castle in Rome.

The jury was made up of Ludovico D'Urso, Patrizia Patini and Pasquale Ciarmello, while the competition was professionally presented by the regional secretary of the FIC Roberto Rosati.
Thanks to the splendid organization of the Hotel Institute led by the director engineer Francesco Cozzolino: it is always a pleasure to come to Fiuggi and it fills us with pride to have this school in our area.
