Presentation of the Natura in Campo brand in the Lepini Mountains

Those who want to export abroad know very well the importance of brands that certify the sustainability of companies and products. In Lazio we are lucky because we have a regional one: Natura in Campo – the products of the parks.

Last night in Cori, Vito Consoli, regional director of the Environment, illustrated to a group of entrepreneurs from the Lepini Mountains (and beyond) the opportunities to request and use this brand in order to promote themselves. The regional management is in fact committed to control the companies and to promoting all the companies that have obtained this prestigious brand.

And just yesterday we were in contact with an intermediary who as a first question asked us what our certifications were to reassure international customers.

Perhaps few people still know it because in the past it was limited to those who were within the regional protected areas, but today it is available to all companies that fall within the municipalities that have parks and to those that process products that come from such areas.

The brand was created in 2004 to promote sustainable agriculture and reduce the fear that protected areas and parks were an obstacle to businesses: "enhance and promote sustainable and traditional agri-food production in the protected natural areas of Lazio".

Today Natura in Campo - the products of the parks are given to those who produce organically (or are in conversion) to reward "an agriculture attentive to soil conservation and the promotion of practices that use less energy from fossil sources, preferring renewable sources, with lower amounts of CO2 emissions.”

Doing the honors were Quirino Briganti, president of the Compagnia dei Lepini who organized the day of study, and Marco Carpineti who hosted him in his winery offering a glass of Kius (my favourite), field fried greens and a slice of the ‘colomba’ of Maciste di Cori, the traditional Italian Easter tart.

Particular credit goes to this Colomba made with yeast created with the fermentation process of Cori's Nero Buono wine and awarded as the best Innovative Colomba in Italy.

And in Maciste's graphics I recognized the hand of the great Edoardo Bernardi, artist and graphic designer from Cori who takes care of our image of Donna Vittori – Borgo Agricolo (www.donnavittori.com).
