'Centauro' project for the regeneration of small villages

With 'Centauro' project Collepardo gets off to a great start

Today is an important day for Collepardo because it sent his proposal for the regeneration of the historic center with a new lymph made up of people, tourists and small businesses.

Today the deadline for submitting the announcement of the Ministry of Culture for the regeneration of small villages expired and Collepardo has chosen to strengthen its historical identity with the Centauro project, named after the Centaur Chirone the mythical founder of the village.

“An identity that is perceived today and that we will make ever more evident and immediately understandable to citizens, travellers and tourists. An identity that is based on herbs, on their recognition and transformation together with the particular naturalistic and speleological biodiversity. "

These are the words of the mayor Mauro Bussiglieri who involved the major companies, all the activities in the historic center and many of the farms in his village in the Ernici Mountains.

The Centauro project combines the great cultural attractions, such as the Certosa di Trisulti where one of the oldest Italian pharmacies is located, and the amazing geological features of the Collepardo Caves and Pozzo d'Antullo. And they are all united under the sign of a great naturalist culture and an herbalist knowledge that is found in the Sarandrea company, a true point of reference with over 100 years of history.

An identity that will be more and more immediately perceptible thanks to the adhesion of all the restaurateurs and bars in the historic center who will undertake to design menus and tasting offers that enhance the image of Collepardo as a village of herbal medicine knowledge and the wise use of herbs in the daily kitchen.

A project that welcomes visitors, walkers and tourists in a historic center that will be increasingly renovated and cared for and with many new points of attraction, especially in the Museum of Herbs and in the former Church of the Consolation which will be completed as an info-point, spaces for education and co-working.

New businesses, new citizenships, attractiveness and beauty, a country that revitalizes itself starting from the discovery of its identity.

Italy is dotted with many small villages, a huge heritage of history, small and characteristic architectural wonders, nature and flavours of people (with their skills) who can once again be the catalyst for the life of small territories.

The call was intended to bring people back to historic centers, to create and strengthen existing companies, to tell and excite with their own story, taking care of the beauty and the visual aspect, to repopulate the small Italian villages that represent a unicum in the world.

We do not know which the winning projects will be, but surely we know that today the communities, the small and industrious municipal offices and the local administrations have won. They have put their heart and soul to arrive with quality projects on the deadline for the presentation of their proposal.

We can tell the journey of Collepardo, a small but important town in Ciociaria, which has decided to write a beautiful page in its history.

Soon a conference by the mayor who will illustrate the project to citizens.
