    Discoverplaces in Shanghai from 25 to 27 June

    The CNR-ICVBC, Institute for the enhancement of Cultural Heritage, Lazio Innova, the municipality of Cave and Discoverplaces.travel and Altair4 will be in China for a 3-day event to exchange best practices in the field of promotion of small towns. Discoverplaces will be represented by Dr Claudia Bettiol.
    In Shanghai, they will be hosted by WHITRAP-UNESCO, the institution that deals with the enhancement of World Heritage in Asia and the Pacific.
    The Italian delegation will hold seminars, recount their experiences and will visit the small 'Water City' near Shanghai, jewels that deserve to be better known around the world.
    In August, the Chinese delegation will be in Italy with professionals and students and will be welcomed in Cave. Seminars will be organized plus visits to 'the beautiful Italian city of the Roman countryside' hill.
    The Discoverplaces group will be involved in both missions and its activities will address the role of Digital Story Telling.

    Donna Gesine Pogson Doria Pamphilj and Don Massimiliano Floridi have the pleasure of inviting you to the presentation of the first editions of the Tourist Guide in two languages dedicated to the large and small towns of Lazio.
    The series of The Tourist Guides of the Towns of Lazio is created by Discoverplaces.travel, the portal born to promote the ‘minor’ territories to travellers and experiential tourists through story-telling.
    These small books, therefore, together form a collection to discover unimaginable places, to find excellent food and wine, to go on wonderful roads less travelled and to get to know traditions and characters of anthropological interest.
    A specific focus of the event will be on the guides already available for some of the Metropolitan Areas of Rome and the Province of Frosinone, including the municipality of Guarcino, home to the private residence of Donna Gesine and Don Massimiliano.
    The initiative is part of the activities to support the enhancement of the cultural heritage and lands that the Doria Pamphilj Trust has been conducting for about 2 years and will be the occasion to announce some plans for next autumn.

    19 April - Grottaferrata: Seminar on Tourism and Images

    The seminar is conducted at the premises of the St. Joseph Art School of Grottaferrata and is held by Ing. Chiara Rossi of discoverplaces.travel team. We discuss tourism and how art, particularly photography, associated with an intriguing story based on the principles of Digital Story Telling, can help increase the interest of tourists in our villages and towns.

    The portal is aimed at travellers and experiential tourists who have been excited by images and stories. Experiential tourists are in search of positive experiences and cultural events related to art in the broadest sense.

    The seminar will increase the understanding by the students in this type of tourism and give them a clue not just of the type of Photograph but also of the 'entrepreneurial' aspect that can help them in their journey of professional growth and to find their areas of interest.

    On this occasion, the St. Joseph Art School of Grottaferrata and the portal Discoverplaces.travel announce a photo contest reserved for the school students. The photographs will be used by the portal for the promotion of the towns.

    The next edition of the 2017 Ecoultramarathon ‘Scorrendo con il Liri' (Flowing down the Liri) will be presented at a press conference in Isola del Liri on 8 April.
    The schedule this year includes a series of cultural and sports events that take place in the towns through which the river Liri from where it rises in the town of Cappadocia in Abruzzo.
    Discoverplaces.travel is a partner of the event for the literary competition among school children. We will translate the article of the winner of the competition, publish and promote it on the portal.
    The first three place getters will be offered a training course in Digital Story Telling to learn how to communicate on the web and how to promote our territories.

    Experiential tourism, travellers, story telling on the web, these are the content of the television program in which Claudia Bettiol of Discoverplaces.travel is participating.
    The director Carlo Savegnago has dedicated an entire episode to a wide-ranging discussion on how to promote the development of a real solid tourist industry.
    To increase the number of days tourists stay in Italy should be our main objective. The ENIT (National Tourist Agency) data confirms that in Italy there are more tourists than Spain and France, but their tenure, and thus their spending, is much lower than other countries.
    To increase the attractiveness of our territories, the Discoverplaces.travel group has created a portal with 'exciting Tourist Guides of all towns'. They have started in Lazio and are now seeking partners for other regions.

    7 March: Seminar on writing for the web

    A seminar dedicated to bloggers from the ciociarian associations to develop their skills in the techniques and tricks of web writing. Discoverplaces has organized this meeting on the topic 'How to reach and attract the potential traveller'.

    The seminar takes place at the site of DIscoverplaces.travel in Paliano starting at 9:30 until 16 hours for a day full of creative immersion.
