    9 March - Opening of the Via Francigena Info point in Fondi

    On March 9, 2018 at 11 am the "Gruppo dei Dodici" association will open the new STUDIES and INFORMATION CENTER on the Via Francigena in Via Cesare Augusto 12 in the historical part of Fondi. The CENTER will be a point of support for walkers who need information, baggage services, driving and economic accommodation, thus promoting youth employment. It is equipped with a gallery on the food and wine products of the area.

    The birthday of our director Giancarlo Flavi: just 28 more to reach his next goal!

    Celebration day in the editorial office of Discoverplaces.travel for the birthday of our director Giancarlo Flavi who engaged all by bringing traditional sweets (many – maybe one for each year) and sparkling wine to celebrate this event.
    "At this point in my career I have started counting the years backwards from my new point of reference: 100 years!"
    Giancarlo has the enthusiasm and curiosity of a child and this is his true uniqueness that has pushed him to share with us all this moment of celebration. After the sweets, we shared moment of reflection with his interviews of the girls of the Tourist Institute of Valmontone who are part of the programme of alternating school / work for a week.
    It was not difficult to recognize who had the biggest dreams and who was the youngest at heart!

    We had the pleasure this year to start a work stage with different local schools.

    This year we hosted for two weeks the tourism school of Palestrina, now for another four weeks the students of the tourism school in Valmontone will have the chance to work together with us and learn from the Discoverplaces.travel team how to promote and create content for small and not well known towns.

    We could not miss the annual meeting of the ISAM - Institute of History and Art of Southern Lazio on particular aspects of the culture of southern Lazio after which it publishes a book.

    This year the theme was "The Agro-Pastoral world" and among the speakers some of our friends who published their stories on our portal as Luca Attura, musician and musicologist of Hernicantus, Daniele Baldassarre, the main expert in polygonal walls or ciclopiche in Italy and Alessandra Pelagalli who made us discover Aquino.

    Lunch was a real surprise: a polenta in the square during the celebrations of the feast of Saint Anthony the Abbot.

    The streets of Morolo were full of stalls and filled with the music of 'Chigli de Morolo'. Experience to be repeated next year.
