Feb 13: Young people from Albano Laziale at the School of Tourism

We returned to the parish school of the Oblate Sisters of Albano Laziale, this time to talk with the students who are creating with us their guide to this important village of the Castelli Romani, and with pleasure we can say that they have understood it too!

Our small group of top writers have done an excellent job of research, between photos and texts, and we were really pleasantly surprised!
Hence, the guide of Albano Laziale goes forward, and we cannot wait to be able to deliver it to the press.

Feb 5: At the convention "Cycle tourism, development and sustainability"

There were we of Discoverplaces too today in Fiuggi at the conference organized by Federturismo, in collaboration with Unindustria where we talked about bike economy, investments in cycleways and a project to encourage cycling tourism entitled "Fiuggi Woodfront".

In a global context that is increasingly looking for solutions and perspectives linked to sustainable mobility, the attention to cyclomobility also grows in Italy and the number of cities with bike hotels is growing.

The growing interest in cycling tourism and attention to issues related to environmental sustainability and respect for nature make it increasingly necessary to build itineraries that also involve peripheral locations through a system of fluent accessibility.

In order to successfully develop city cycling, it is necessary to invest first of all on safety by creating cycle lanes in appropriate locations, observing suitable quality standards that guarantee the connection between the various itineraries.

The project illustrated for the occasion by the architect Marco Mariani stems from the idea of creating a new cycle path that, taking inspiration from the examples of urban rehabilitation realized on the promenades of many cities, would help to revive the historic center in a new dimension more broad and sustainable. An intervention to reconnect existing stretches and which acts as a hub for all the surrounding territories. Let's talk about the cycle path that from Paliano crosses Serrone, Piglio, Acuto to get to Fiuggi, along the Via Francigena, the Cesanese Wine Route.

Planning cycling for cycling means to realize that our territory is full of tracks, infrastructures, small roads that are partly used or completely abandoned and that, once recovered and enhanced, represent the ideal path for the rediscovery of the territory and of the landscape of our country.

It is certainly not the cold that stops the traditional feast of St Anthony the Abbot!

A parade of allegorical floats that starts from the church of the Madonna della Neve and reaches the highest point of the village, the belvedere!

Wagons created by young boys who trace the views or monuments of their beloved Rocca Priora.

The parade of the carts is open by the Corbium band and the wagons follow the many citizens and their four-legged friends to be blessed!

It is possible to taste typical products such as Scottone and local cheeses in a festive atmosphere and joy!

Present to the citizens mayor Damiano Pucci, the councilor for culture Federica La Valle and other components of the administration!

We had fun and at the end we were a bit wet because of the rain that arrived at the end of the show.

Jan 26: Meeting on Tourism in Piglio

An afternoon to talk about the past, present and future of Piglio thanks to the eno-gastronomic tourism.

The past was represented by the presentation of a posthumous publication by Massimo Felli presented by his two sons; the present by Stefano Matturro in the multiple role of President of the Concrete Cooperative, director of the Cantina Sociale di Piglio and member of the Strada Del Cesanese Association. Stefano is also one of the best producers of Cesanese del Piglio DOCG based in the splendid Casale Verde Luna.

Then, we talked about the future, how these territories can convert their economies thanks to the particular contingency that tourists to Rome can escape from the capital for two days and go in search of real experiences in the countryside.

There are steps to be taken to help local businesses grow and become more 'Friends of the Tourist' but above all there is a big task of communication to undertake. Only then can the message pass that behind a good glass of Cesanese wine there is a territory to discover and that it is worth planning a weekend in this area.

At the end of the day Antonio Borgia, president of the Strada Del Cesanese Association and Mayor Mario Felli presented prizes to the producers and key members of Cesanese wine production.
