5/6 October: Discovering Cellino San Marco

For three days our founder Claudia Bettiol went to discover the town of Cellino San Marco led by dr. Fausto D’Agostino who called her.

Fausto's desire is to stem the flight of young people from the south and from his country he loves deeply, helping them to see the country with new eyes.

Puglia in recent years has had a significant tourist development but some beautiful inland towns still struggle to make themselves known. And although Cellino San Marco is the town of Albano and Romina Power and that the whole world has heard of it, this has not generated a real tourist flow.

The discovery of the beauties of the town, the stories about local cuisine and above all of its wines and their story will help to make Cellino known first to the young people of the place and then to the readers in English.

4 October: Friend of Tourist in Nettuno

A new seminar of Friend of Tourist - "Amico del Turista" in Nettuno dedicated to local producers and catering operators who work in the tourism industry. The workshop was held inside Forte Sangallo,  a crowded room with an attentive audience eager to understand communication techniques on the web and on social media networks.

In addition to chefs and classic fish cuisine of the area, we had the pleasure of having the producer of the Nettuno DOC wine with cacchione grapes, which in some places are called bellone, an indigenous grape variety of this area that overlooks the coast south of Rome .

In Nettuno this vine is particularly important for the original "footless" cultivation technique, that is, the vines are the original ones and have not undergone grafting on other vines.

In the 1800s in Europe, the vines were destroyed by phylloxera, an insect from America, and to recover production, grafts were made on American vine roots that resisted the parasite.

But thanks to the particular type of sandy soil of Nettuno, the Cacchione plants were not attacked by the insect and are still the original ones that have their roots over the centuries. In particular, the members of Cantina Bacco have recovered the original plants by reproducing them by cutting to create new crops.

Roma- Panorama

Our founder Claudia Bettiol has been invited to be part of the Table of Experts that support the University of Tor Vergata and Josef Ejarque in the drafting of the new Tourism Plan of the City of Rome for the years 2019-2025.

An ambitious plan that wants to understand the dynamics of the city to understand how to increase the quality of its tourists. Alongside the classic destinations of the Colosseum and San Pietro that are overbooked, there are a myriad of wonderful places that are still unknown to the Italian and international public.

Increasing the quality of tourists, meeting the expectations of experiential tourists trying to increase the days of their stay in the capital, these are the objectives of the Plan.

And we are there with our driving experience to discover the 'minor places and territories' and with our Friend of Tourist micro-training school (www.friendoftourist.com).

26 Sep: Friend of Tourist in Civitavecchia

With our workshop 'Friend of the tourist - Amico del Turista' we met the producers and farmers from the territory of Civitavecchia, a series of meetings organized by the Energitismo Italia Association with ARSIAL, the agency of the Lazio Region dedicated to agriculture and the promotion of Lazio Region products.

Our experts Stefano Venditti and Benedicta Mary Lee guided the writing of posts on Facebook and Instagram.

In fact, the language of social media is very different from the real one and you have a few seconds and a few words to be able to attract the reader and convince him to read the whole post. The rules of digital communication will be revealed to all participants of the laboratory.

A day together with the University of Cassino, in the setting of the splendid Angioino Castle of Gaeta to make its territory known.[/caption]

A workshop for elementary and middle school children to learn to look at their own country through the 'eyes of a tourist': this is the Tourism among the Banks program (www.turismotraibanchi.org).

We took the children through a path of discovery and knowledge of the beauties of their country, with a program of fun and highly interactive activities: role-playing games where the children turned into little travelers for a day.

With our help they discovered in groups the beauties of their country by answering a quiz and winning a travel notebook. A truly special day that underlines the great bond we have built with the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio, a university deeply linked to the territory and the avant-garde in the world.

23 August: DiVino Etrusco Festival

This year we go on holiday to Tarquinia!

This weekend we will participate in DiVino Etrusco, one of the major events of our region. An opportunity for us to visit Tarquinia, a village in the Province of Viterbo, which is divided between the infinite countryside of the Lazio Maremma and the clear beaches of its beach, a summer destination that has become the destination of many Italians in recent years who are looking for an alternative holiday, between history and nature. We talked about Tarquinia in our "Guide of Tarquinia", and in the article "5 things to do in Tarquinia".

See you in Tarquinia, chalices in hand and Etruscans in the heart!

But what is DiVino Etrusco?

From 22 to 25 August the ancient food and wine traditions of the area and Tarquinia are celebrated with the Divine Etruscan event. A weekend to discover the "Etruscan capital" and its heritage of typical products and dishes, with 4 evenings of workshops and courses to get to know the most appreciated labels of Viterbo and their producers. 14 stands of local producers and more than 30 wineries will populate the streets of the village with taste and greedy gastronauts, a real playground for the senses! A weekend of tastings and shows, in one of the most beautiful and historic villages in Lazio.

Two days of photographs to complete the Ventotene Guide. Two days to discover the island by meeting many people on the island and listening to their stories.

We immersed ourselves in the beauty of the island and savored its delights such as the famous lentils and the wine produced from a vine that a young producer has returned to cultivate.

The wine is called Pandataria, from the history of Ventotene, and comes from Falanghina, Fiano, Greco grapes. To taste absolutely!
