5 December: Discoverplaces and the trip back from Chengdu

A month full of news and commitments, including our participation in the "Forum on cooperation between Chinese and Italian local governments" organized by OBOR Institute (One Belt One Road), the International Cooperation Program between China and Italy.

An opportunity for international comparison, to say the least, where we met the "small" Chinese municipalities that were very fascinated to discover, with our presentation, aspects of Italy that they had never imagined.

There are many characteristics that bind our country to China, culture and our traditions are certainly the common thread that, if followed intelligently, will allow us to create a new "Silk Road" based on mutual understanding and appreciation of our civilizations.

We must make ourselves known, and we will continue to work for the promotion of our value and our beauties, from small to large municipalities!

29 November: Workshop at the ROME Museum Fair

The ROME MuseumExhibition is an event dedicated to museums, places and cultural destinations, all aimed at an audience of subjects specialized in the sector within the Fiera di Roma.

We participated in a seminar on how to convey awareness that cultural heritage is an element of social cohesion, especially in view of the 2020 Year of Culture and Tourism between CHINA and ITALY.

Roberta Gabrielli exposed the history of Discoverplaces and above all its commitment to foster exchanges between China and Italy. The workshop was coordinated and moderated by Bruno Grassetti.

Among the other speakers, Claudio Bocci President of Federculture and managing director of the Ravello Lab committee, Paola Sarcina, Artistic President and Director of Cerealia Festival Music Theather International, and Kathy HUANGFU, Deputy General Manager of Shanghai Creative City Technology and Development.

Our presentation on the three possible twinning (very original) has really attracted a lot of attention and we have created a desire to learn more.

26 November: Discoverplaces and the Cesanese Wine Road at the BITESP Fair

On November 26th, the Discoverplaces group and the Cesanese Wine Road Association participated in the Venice Experiential Tourism Exchange (BITESP), a meeting place with professionals and Tour Operators in the tourism sector. An important opportunity for the exchange of ideas in real training days on new technologies and philosophies within the Experiential Tourism world.

How to excite a tourist? How to tell our offer in a captivating way? How to highlight cultural tourism and the history of our town?

Together with the Cesanese Wine Road Association, to discover the history of a vine that is also the history of a territory and the producers who live there ...Cesanese has landed in Venice!

A wine is a road a thousand entities that come together under a single objective, that of bringing our excellences and their producers to the international tourism stage. But not just any tourism, what lives on experiences. That journey, that tasting and that dinner that remain in the heart, because told with passion and performed with the quality and authenticity that only our territory can offer.

The language of emotion is universal.

A day of meetings with sector operators, from Europe to China, to promote our territory and the experiences it offers together with the Cesanese Wine Route. Our proposals have been appreciated far and wide, and if our offer has not been able to immediately involve the most "stubborn", we have managed to taste the local products that we had the opportunity to serve during a well-deserved lunch break .

An opportunity for discussion with the many tourist realities and national and international operators that today inhabit this world stage of incoming. Many interesting ideas, we had the opportunity to get to know the new online resources of experiential tourism, which are slowly bringing together millions of tour operators and associations in platforms for sharing ideas and tourist packages for all needs. A digital innovation that continues to navigate alongside the good old paper, participating and meeting the BITESP Buyers has confirmed the need to offer a package of offers that you can "touch with your hand", a memory to take with you and be able to consult without having to worry about internet connections or anything.

A real catalog that follows captivating themes that offers a kaleidoscope of "ready to use" experiences in the same package to increase the stay of even the most stubborn tourist.

This experience made us understand that we live in an area with a unique potential, which comes from our productions, from the authenticity of the operators who live on the street. Cesanese is an experience not only of wine, but of stories and people united under a common goal, that of telling our excellence to the world, starting from our wine.

The road ahead is long and the work is a lot, but BITESP was the first of the many tests that showed us that united we win, and that our territory full of emotions and history has nothing to envy anyone.

21/22 November: Discoverplaces with Fortune Italia

Two days of reflection on sustainability together with industrialists, universities and professionals to understand future scenarios and changes to social behaviors induced by the new sensitivity towards the environment.

The days were organized by Fortune Italia, the Italian section of Fortune International magazine, which every month gives insights on a topic of strong interest. Sustainability finally, after so many years in which we were few to take it into consideration, has arrived on the table of political decision-makers and we hope it will influence some choices.

Devastating fires in the south of the planet, floods, excessive pollution of some areas, bee deaths, poisons in the ground ... all these issues are now in the public domain and we hope that politics will finally take them into account.

15 November: The Magic of Snow in Rocca Priora

Our favorite engineer Chiara Rossi together with Elettra Casali presented the fairy tale "The magic of Neviino" written by Chiara and her daughter and illustrated by Elettra.

The fairy tale with its main character Nevino and the Biancofiore horse tells the story of the Rocca Priora snow industry seen through the eyes of a little girl. Rocca Priora is the highest municipality of the Castelli Romani and for centuries it was under the careful government of the Apostolic Chamber because it had a 'particular production', that of ice.

During the frequent snowfalls, the whole population was called to collect snow in deep wells where it was pressed to form ice. Then, during the winter, this was brought to Rome where it served as a delight to the Popes and for treatment in hospitals.

An afternoon of rain and wind as only Rocca Priora can give, but the room was packed with children and parents and the two authors excited the audience.

The fairy tale was read by Virginia Belli, the inspirer of everything.

26 November: Discoverplaces visits Chengdu with OBOR

In a few weeks we will embark on an international trip to say the least.

We have applied with our Discoverplaces publishing house to the "Forum on cooperation between Chinese and Italian local governments" organized by OBOR (One Belt One Road / Bel and Road Initiative), the International Cooperation Program between China and Italy.

We will be in Chengdu to promote our territories, with the aim of meeting the "small" Chinese municipalities to marry them to our municipalities through similar and shared elements, such as typical dishes and material heritage of interest.

There are many characteristics that link our country to China, from UNESCO sites to the particularity of traditional cuisine, with ours. From Lazio to Calabria, a single common thread that unites different cultures ...

7 November: Photography Contest in Monterotondo

A day walking around Monterotondo to take pictures for our website. We took advantage of a splendid autumn sun to wander the city in search of hidden corners and suggestions.

A pleasant visit to the cathedral and the castle where we met the mayor. A real surprise was the tasting of the 'beans of the dead' prepared according to tradition by a local pastry shop.

13 November: Discoverplaces at Futouroma

With your head in the clouds ... by Fuksas

The Discoverplaces Team is at the Rome Convention Center, on Wednesday the 13th of November, to participate in the final event of FutourRoma 2019 - 2025, the Strategic Tourism Plan of the Municipality of Rome. An event and a program of "round tables" sessions, which is the culmination (and the beginning) of a long journey that we have undertaken with the Municipality of Rome, with which we have been protagonists and actors in previous meetings, within of the Lifestyle Table with the aim of creating new strategies for enhancing and strengthening the tourism sector of the capital.

The lines of the Rome Tourism Plan were presented to the Nuvola di Roma by the mayor Virginia Raggi and the commissioner Carlo Cafarotti. The event took place in various stages throughout the day which represented the complexity of Rome, one of the most beautiful but also difficult cities in the world.

2500 years of layered history along every street in the center and in every town in the surrounding area are a stimulus but also a brake on the modernization that is demanded by the new oriental tourists and by the young inhabitants of Rome themselves.

The afternoon was opened by the tales of the tables that did the preparatory work, including ours on Lifestyle led by Professor Marina Faccioli, and by a long speech by Josef Ejarque.

More than an intervention I would say a Lectio Magistralis in which he compared Rome with the other capitals of the world, he described the behavior of his tourists and what the city's aspirations are for the next few years.

The afternoon ended with a cocktail where we were able to make many new contacts that will bear fruit in the coming months.

Let's work together to make Rome more Iconic and "Friend of the Tourist".
