21 January: Inauguration of Italian and Chinese Culture and Tourism Year

2 ministers of Culture and Tourism, Luo Shugang for China and Dario Franceschini for Italy, numerous experts and entrepreneurs: this is the synthesis of a day that began in the morning and ended with an evening concert.

In the splendid setting of the Rome Auditorium, the year of Culture and Tourism between Italy and China was inaugurated, declared by President Xi Jinping and Sergio Mattarella.

Lorenza Bonaccorsi, Undersecretary for Tourism, opened the first part of the meetings with thematic workshops on the various aspects of modern tourism and especially those related to cultural tourism. Especially for the fact that China and Italy have the largest number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites and can be considered cultural superpowers.

The interesting conclusions were that today Chinese tourists are also moving more and more by choosing individual trips.

Over 50% do not rely on travel agencies but plan the trip alone looking for inspiration on the internet.

It is therefore important to be present on the web to be found. If the Italian places are not on the web, it is as if they did not exist. And this means that if the Italians understood this data we will have a lot of work to continue doing together.

We are already on the web and our stories in English are read all over the world!

Presentazione libro oltre la Grande Muraglia
Presentazione libro oltre la Grande Muraglia

An interesting meeting organized by the Horse Museum Foundation for the presentation of the book 'Beyond the Great Wall' by Ambassador Alberto Bradanini. An opportunity for a reflection on the World Cup and 2022 Attacks on Vivaro and on how to prepare the territory to seize this opportunity.

The ambassador illustrated China with its 10-year experience of residency and collaboration with this country that has seen it blossom. It was in Hong Kong in 1997 when it returned from the United Kingdom to China, a historic moment for the whole planet that changed the world's geopolitical balance.

Today the ambassador is the president of a Center for Studies on Contemporary China and he told how following the teachings of Confucius one can understand how to structure a proposal that can create a lasting bond with this huge country.

According to the ambassador, the Chinese are pragmatic but they want to dream and their great wealth today opens all the doors to the world for us so we must not miss strategy and tactics.

The presentation of the book was followed by a debate attended by the mayor Anna Gentili of Rocca Priora, Maria Vittori president of the Foundation, the delegate mayor of Rocca di Papa, the president of FISE Marco di Paola and prof. Carla Persichini delegated by the rector of Rome 4 (university of the Foro Italico) moderated by Bruno Grassetti.

The challenge for everyone is to have a common strategy to present ourselves to the Chinese market in order to simultaneously promote Italian sport, the innovative proposal in the university world such as that of the degree course with equestrian sport address and the splendid territory of the Roman castles.

The glue of all this is given by the culture of the relationship between horse and rider represented by the Foundation and by its knowledge of China, a knowledge that will continue to spread in the world of Italian horse riding with other meetings in Italy and China.

9 January: Training for the operators of the Rocca Priora Library

A morning at the Rocca Priora Library to prepare the staff to guide the exhibition 'La Libertà e il Cavallo'. Despite the proximity to the Pratoni del Vivaro and the Equestrian Center which houses the FISE-Italian Federation of Equestrian Sports, many residents of Rocca Priora do not know the world of horses and do not attend sports competitions.

An interesting morning to understand which strategy to use to create a strong bond between Rocca Priora and the horse in order to seize the opportunities of proximity to Vivaro. The premises of the Rocca Priora library also host the lessons of the degree course in Sports Science with equestrian sports address of the University of the Foro Italico in Rome.

From this meeting, a volume dedicated to our 'Horse Friend' will soon be born.

27 December: Opening of the exhibition “Freedom and the horse”

The Horse Museum Foundation has organized an exhibition in Rocca Priora entitled "Freedom and the horse, modern interpretations of the horse in art" under the patronage of the Municipality of Rocca Priora, the Lazio Region, FISE and the University of the Foro Italico From Rome.

Two different sections have been set up in the halls of the Di Rocca Priora Cultural Center, one that covers a journey through art and artistic craftsmanship with objects that represent this noble animal in different shapes and different materials.

The second area is dedicated exclusively to children and young people to bring them closer to the world of equestrian sports and life in sports centers with a scaled representation. The operators of the library tell about the sports disciplines that can be undertaken riding a horse, and the typical day of a young rider who takes care of his steed.

The exhibition will be an important opportunity to start an artistic and cultural journey that will involve schools of all levels.

At the next Horse Fair in Rome, we will organize a Master Class involving the Liceo Artistico San Giuseppe di Grottaferrata which will take care of the lessons for young people who want to try their hand at this path.

The Horse Museum Foundation was created with the aim of bringing children closer to the culture and art of the horse world, to widen the horizon of the many young sportsmen who approach equestrian sports but also to make known the depth of the relationship between man and horse that has made our history for centuries.

Our work includes temporary exhibitions in which we exhibit some pieces of the collection according to a chosen theme and organize collateral events. We have just participated in the II Forum for cultural exchanges between Italy and China in Chengdu, Sichuan, to make international agreements.

Visits to the exhibition are organized by the Municipal Library.

16 December: Christmas greetings at the University of Cassino

A meeting and an interview with Giovanni Betta, rector of the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio, on the occasion of the Christmas greetings to the students and professors.

A pleasant meeting with the students who organized a multi-ethnic lunch on the ground floor of the rectorate. A particular climate for a university that is increasingly international and chosen by students from various parts of the world.

Scents and music of India that integrate with Ciociari ones in an original blend.

The rector's speech was a hymn to positivity for a university that regained its momentum and vitality thanks to a strong link with the territory. Deep roots and head projected into the world: this is Cassino's secret.
