This Thursday we talked about Acuto, a splendid town in the Province of Frosinone, from which you can enjoy a fantastic panorama!

We continue our journey to discover the most beautiful and interesting towns of Lazio with our weekly appointment together with Radio Radio and ANCI Lazio, in the broadcast "Amico Comune", where every Thursday we talk about a town of the Lazio Region together with its Mayor.

Art, tradition, and an unprecedented local gastronomy!

Acuto is famous for its Cesanese del Piglio DOCG wine, its oil and for… .music!

Every year important events involving neighboring towns, such as AcutoJazz, Saltaranta.

We advised the mayor to maintain this link with music also digitally so as not to waste all the work of the past years.

And if we cannot go to the "Sbaragagli" festival, the famous Acuto asparagus this year, we can always go to Salvatore Tassa 1 Michelin Star when we can return to live outside our homes.

A village that we look forward to seeing again, and that in the meantime you can get to know with Acuto through our Tourist Guide.

When we launched our #ilfuturonellenostreradici hashtag, we couldn't imagine its success.

It was a challenge and an invitation to rediscover in these moments of uncertainty the strength to look to the future through a journey into our origins.

Everyone has interpreted it differently through childhood memories, emotions, rediscovery of local products or traditions.

Each story is an act of love for our Italian villages and gives us strength and desire to be reborn.

In tribute to all these new friends who have written to us, we have decided to give space to their voices by restyling our weekly newsletter. There are no weekends with events but we have the opportunity to meet on the web.

We therefore decided to give our column a new name, which now becomes a collector of unique stories written by special people, not only from Lazio but from all over Italy:

A testament of love for their villages, a strong connection to the roots that hold it and hold us firmly in a story without comparison.

This Thursday we talked about Sora, a splendid town in the Province of Frosinone that we have had the pleasure of visiting several times.

Nature, history and beauty, the town is crossed by the Liri river, the protagonist of many photographic shots by our photographer friends.

A town that we look forward to returning to, and which you can get to know for now with our Tourist Guide of Sora.

This Thursday we talked about Monte Porzio Catone, a splendid village in the Province of Rome, part of the Castelli Romani area.

Nature, history and beauty come together in a village known for its observatory and a festival dedicated to orchids from all over the world.

Unfortunately we won't be able to see them this year, but we have had the pleasure of visiting the Orchid Festival on several occasions.

We are on air with Lina Novelli, the dynamic mayor of Canino, thanks to the weekly appointment of Radio Radio Tv and ANCI Lazio, in the broadcast "Amico Comune".

A very interesting transmission: Canino gives great importance to his heritage of traditions, and how to blame him when they are so special.

We have heard of missed appointments for coronavirus such as the asparagus festival. The mayor told us about the delights of the famous indigenous green asparagus in Canino. We offered to write a story and promote Canino with its delicacies.

It is our way of helping the territories prepare to recover when all this is over.

So, with the help of the Mayor and restaurant owners of the village, we will write an article on the best recipes that see this delicacy as the protagonist.

On Wednesday we were guests of Europa Verde, in a direct Instagram that saw Claudia Bettiol, founder of our portal talking to Guido Mascia the protagonists of Europa Verde.

Environmental sustainability and social sustainability, a journey through the contribution that experiential (digital) tourism is making in these difficult moments, and how man's absence is giving way to nature to breathe.

For us at Discoverplaces, this is the time to worry about the social sustainability of communities to help them get back up after this quarantine. We try to cure the psychological aspects caused by the pandemic and possible depression, a threat that we must not underestimate.

Quarantine does not stop us from airing (remotely) with our weekly appointment together with Radio Radio TV and ANCI Lazio, in the "Amico Comune" broadcast, where every Thursday we tell a mayor of Lazio together with its Mayor.

This time it's the turn of Sacrofano with its mayor Nicolini Patrizia, a splendid village in the Province of Rome, which we got to know in its most naturalistic aspects thanks to the Team of "Luoghi Segreti a Due Passi da Roma" (Secret Places a stone's throw from Rome), the name says it all!

A series of books written by Luigi Plos, eternal explorer that we have had the opportunity to interview over the years, which explore nature trails to discover the hidden beauties of a Province that deserves all the attention of the world!

We can't wait to collaborate, and find out what our beloved Lazio Region still hides from us.

I think you will notice it, we have changed the title of our newsletter from "weekend events" to "weekend stories".

Why?

We cannot remain indifferent to what is going on in the world, for this reason since the beginning of the Coronavirus madness that began in China. We at Discoverplaces.travel like many others have put us in the front row helping solidarity with our sister from the East, writing articles, interviews and doing events broadcast digitally.

After all, this is (and remains) the year of Culture and Tourism Italy - China.

For this reason, when this phenomenon spread to Italy, creating not only physical but psychological concern and discomfort, we decided to continue in our work to tell the most beautiful events in our region but also the stories of our fantastic villages. Above every quarantine and every cancellation. If we can write them we can still live them a little, and make you have fun for those 0.5 seconds of digital attention ... FORCE ITALIANS! In our history we have overcome everything and nothing scares us.
