Fumone- Chiesa Madonna delle Grazie byAf128

The Church of Our Lady of Grace is about 3 km from the village of Fumone on the crossroads between the road that connects Ferentino to Alatri and leads to Fumone.

The church was erected by municipal council resolution of February 15, 1609 to preserve the ancient 14th century aedicula that sat at the crossroads.

The aedicula is shaped like a sail and in the niche there is the fresco depicting the Virgin with the Baby Jesus and the saints Nicola da Tolentino, Giovanni Evangelista, Carlo Borromeo, Sebastiano Marttire and the four Evangelists.

Rectangular squares with small stucco frames are furthermore representing the mysteries and angels.

The bell is dated 1614 and has imprinted the image of Our Lady and the coat of arms of the Marquis Longhi family who probably contributed to its construction.

In Acquasanta at Pietrafitta di Settefrati is this church built over a water source that was for a long time considered therapeutic.

In 1534, Gaio Prudenzio already cited this 'miraculous source' of sulphur water, where he brought his daughter: 3 different straws of water that ensured birth of children of different sizes.

Remember that the Christian martyr Felicita had 7 children (Felice, Marziale, Vitale, Silvano, Gennaro, Alessandro e Filippo), all killed with her!

These seven siblings are the saints that protect the town.
